Job Stories From Minnehaha County, SD
Connection Gutter Runs to Lower Roof Elevations - Gutter Contractor Near Me - Minnehaha County

LeafGuard gutter installation completed in Sioux Falls South Dakota - September 2018

Every home design is unique in one way or another. Our experts love coming up with solutions for each curve ball thrown at them! This one and half story home has different roof elevations where gutters are most important - the entry door and porch! Each gutter trough needs a downspout to carry the water away from the home. Downspout placement can be difficult when roof elevations vary in areas so close together.

Water still needed to be carried and drained from one trough to the other. Our installers cut into both the higher & lower gutter runs, so they could install a downspout connecting the two. They also used different elbow bends when connecting runs for a smooth blended look!

Custom Downspout Installation

Customer has two roof elevations that meet above the entry way of the home. They had small 4" k style gutters on the home that struggled to keep up with water run off, which prompted their call to LeafGuard Gutters of South Dakota. Kiel, our representative went out to evaluate the work scope and come up with a solution for the problem areas.

After taking the measurements and assessing the small area (Pictured) he decided it was best to connect the two roof elevations with a LeafGuard® downspout extension. With our patented LeafGuard® "B" elbows, our technicians are able to turn downspout extensions toward the home siding. They used a "B" elbow on the highest run to create that turn. With a 1' extension, they added another "B" elbow to divert the extension into the lower gutter trough. They custom cut a hole big enough to insert the "B" elbow while remaining water tight.

The end result is a seamless, watertight gutter run that blends right into the home without looking bulky. The homeonwer is very pleased and can utilize the front entry door without worry of getting soaked when raining.

LeafGuard® Downspout into Drain Tile

Pictured is a high volume LeafGuard® gutter downspout with a LeafGuard® drain tile adapter ran into underground corrugated drain tile.

Underground drain tile is an efficient method used to divert water away from the homes' basement. It keeps water from pooling in low lying areas. When installing gutters, downspouts are typically inserted into a drain tile reducer to ensure a perfect fit into underground drain tile.

Gutter Services in Valley Springs South Dakota

Pictured is LeafGuard® gutters installed on different roof elevations interlinked with custom downspouts for efficient and maximum drainage.

Above the front entry; our technicians connected the higher gutter run to the lower run with a custom downspout created with our patented LeafGuard® A & B elbows. The extension seamlessly runs down the siding and angles to the lower gutter run. The controlled water moves through both levels of gutters and dispelled from the downspout, (next to the entry door), that's inserted into previously installed underground drain tile.

Installation completed in Valley Springs South Dakota, August 2020.

After photo of LeafGuard® gutters installed on the front side of a 1 /2 story split level home.

It is common for split level homes to have multiple, short, roof elevations in close proximity of each other.

Downspout placement can become tricky and in some situations, bulky and unsightly when placed close together.

Our technicians were able to connect the higher gutter run, to the lower elevation with a combination of A & B elbows and two, 2', downspout extensions.

Water is captured by the highest gutter trough, drained through the custom extension, and out the lower gutter run and downspout.

The end result is a high functioning, very attractive gutter system with maximum drainage.
