This single family home had galvanized steel gutters installed on an angled fascia. Galvanized steel gutters will eventually corrode and deteriorate over time. Installing ANY gutter system on an angled fascia is a hazard for water damage. Gutters do not properly sit on an angled fascia and it is hard for them to properly capture water and route it away from the home. Water can run behind the fascia, risking damage to the inside of the home like the ceiling, insulation, and walls. It will eventually rot the fascia board and can even cause gutters to fall off. Run off can also go over the gutters and possibly enter basements.
Our technicians tore of the galvanized steel gutters. They started to build out the angled fascia with 1x6x10 wood boards and wrapped it in aluminum trim coil to protect the boards from moisture and keep watertight. LeafGuard gutters and downspouts were then installed on the new secure fascia boards.
